is also a curious blend of Swiss and Lebanese origins, born in Pakistan, raised in Singapore and in Switzerland, he lives now in Geneva after three years spent in New York.
He has an equal passion for World Affairs
and dark bitter chocolate.

He draws a twice-weekly cartoon in the International Herald Tribune.

Chappatte also works for the daily Le Temps, in Geneva, and the Sunday edition of the Neue Zürcher Zeitung, in Zurich.

In New York, he was an illustrator for The New York Times and created Rob the cybernaut, a comic strip published in Newsweek International.

Publications include: Los Angeles Times, Foreign Affairs, Financial Times, Courrier International.

His best cartoons published in the Herald Tribune have been collected
in the cartoon book
"Another World" in October 2004. (Read a review).
Before that, four collections of his political cartoons, as well as a travel diary
made during a four-month trip to South America were published in French.
